15th July 1917 - 3rd Batt: Batt in support and finding, working and carrying parties to the front line

Rolling casualty count: 6761

War Front:

1st Batt: There was a lecture on bayonet fighting by Col Campbell. Later the Batt marched past the Commander in Chief.

2nd Batt: Church Parade am with the 1st Queens. Massed drums played in the square afterwards. A fishing competition was held which was won by Pte Winsor of D Coy, who caught two and a half pound bream.

3rd Batt: Batt in support and finding, working and carrying parties to the front line.

4th Batt: Church Parade abandoned as CF on leave.

2/7th Batt: Church Parade am. Lt H Goodwin and Lt KS Hemingway, who had been evacuated sick previously, returned from England.

1/8th Batt: There was a lecture by Capt JP Bate on the coming offensive. The Brigade Horse show was held and the Batt won the following classes: 1st for best pair of light draught in limber, best pair of mules in limber, best pair of mules in harness, best pair of light draught in water-cart and the pack -pony class. Seconds and thirds were also won.

A draft of 58 other ranks arrived and they were poorly trained.
