8th December 1917 - For Blinded Soldiers And Sailors

War Front:

2nd Batt: Capt Peake joined the Batt and took over command of C Coy. 2nd Lt Wickham joined and took over A Coy. Batt allotted the baths.

4th batt: CO and 2nd in Command attended a conference at HQ 29th Division. A draft of 13 other ranks arrived.

2/7th Batt: Batt still working on the roads. 2nd Lt HE Boswell transferred to England as wounded.

10th Batt: Batt entrained at St Omer Station at 5.10am and detrained at Mondicourt at 12.30pm and marched to billets.

Home Front:

Wor’shire Volunteer Regiment – An Oldbury Rally – In order to secure more men for the Worcestershire Volunteer Regiment, a Rally took place at Oldbury on Sunday, when the local Detachment were joined by the remainder of the 1st Battalion of the Regiment, the whole making an imposing show.

For Blinded Soldiers And Sailors – A Malvern Matinee – A varied programme was presented at a matinee given in the Assembly Rooms, yesterday on behalf of St Dunstan’s Hostel for blinded sailors and soldiers.
