War Front:

2nd Batt: Orders received that the Batt would entrain on the 28th. B Coy proceeded to the entraining station at Arques for loading purposes.

4th Batt: Batt generally cleaning up with kit inspections and making up of deficiencies.

Home Front:

Unploughed Land at Inkberrow – £20 Fine for an Ex-Mayor – At Redditch Petty Sessions, Edwin Hunt, a Magistrate of the Grange, Bescott, Walsall, of the firm of Chance and Hunt, chemical manufacturers, and a former mayor of Wednesbury, was charged under the Defence of the Realm Regulations with failing to cultivate two fields at Inkberrow, according to instructions given by Worcestershire War Agricultural Committee, under the Cultivation of Lands Order 1916. The first notice to plough up the land was given in December 1917, and was not complied with. The time was eventually extended to July this year, but the land has not been broken up. The defendant was fined £20 and £2.2s costs.
