Journey's End coming to the Norbury Theatre, Droitwich
23rd July 2018
The Norbury Players present an amateur production by arrangement with Samuel French
The Norbury Players mark the 100th anniversary of the end of World War One by performing this powerful play written by R C Sherriff.
Journey’s End is the only play written about the war by someone who was there serving as a Captain. Written to capture the waste and futility of conflict and to celebrate all those who fought in it.
Set in the trenches near Saint-Quentin, Aisne, in 1917, Journey's End gives a glimpse into the experiences of the officers of a British Army infantry company. The entire story plays out in the officers' dugout over four days from 18 to 21 March 1917, during the run-up to the real-life events of Operation Michael.
There are two runs of performance, 1 - 3 November and 8 - 11 November
