2/7th batt: Batt in working parties. Four men evacuated sick to England.

Identity in Doubt: The Worcester County Police would be glad of any information respecting the identity of the body of a woman found in the Teme at Bransford last night at 8.30. The woman appears to have been about 40 to 45 years of age, 5ft. high, of stout build, dark hair, dressed in a brown tweed coat, pink woollen blouse, black skirt and under-skirt. One lace up boot (black, gents.) on the right foot and a brown shoe on the left.

Women Workers on the Land: At a meeting of the Agricultural Women Workers’ Committee, Miss Day, one of the Government organisers of the movement, said there was a growing number of girls of all classes coming forward for agricultural work, and the number sent out each week on to the land was increasing. It would be a great advantage if the elder girls at school might be taught to milk. It was a great advantage to farmers in this busy season if their men could be relieved from milking, which hindered the hay-making and other work.

Increase in demand for the Regimental Comforts Fund. Numbers of workers have increased beyond capacity at Red Hill due to additional Red Cross work (meaning splints, bandages, swabs, etc., for our wounded). Requires the loan of an empty house or shop until the end of the War, if possible near line of trams. The house should have at least 8 or 9 rooms, to accomodate over 100 workers with additional workers to carry out the Red Cross work.
