3rd April 1916 - Supply of newspaper restricted

At the Front:

1st Batt: In billets in Bouvigny and working parties very active. Weather fine and warm.

2nd Batt: Inspection of kit by Co Commander. A Brigade Bombing course held in Brigade HQ.

4thBatt: Inspection of Lewis gun teams in preparation for move tomorrow

8th Batt: Batt relieved by 14th and 13th Batts Yorks and Lancs Regiment and marched to billets in Colincamps for the night . A total of 7 killed and 17 wounded while in the trenches.

9th Batt: brigade rested all day and after dark marched to the river bank and filed across a long floating bridge over the Tigris and then into the trenches. The 28th and 40th Brigades were already there.

On the Home Front:

Important – Owing to the Government Restrictions on the supply of paper, Newsagents will receive only the supplies that are ordered. There will be no margin for the supply of casual customers
