1st Batt: Weather fine and warm and coy and batt training continued.

2nd Batt: A Fokker was brought down to our right at about 11.00am. It was impossible to get any more Newton Grenades as the supply had run dry.

4th Batt: Snipers were given the range to test new sites. Enemy heavy guns very active am Two raids were attempted but neither met with success. No work was allowed at night.

9th Batt: Kut surrendered. Batt still holding the trenches at Bait Isa.

SMD RFA: Severe bombardment to the right of the Brigade and some shelling on our immediate zone.

On the Home Front:

Scarlet Pimpernel Day – The organisers and helpers who made the very successful street collection on Saturday last, are to be congratulated on the excellent result of their efforts. £240 takes a good deal of getting when it is largely contributed in coppers. There were many collectors and they must have worked hard from morning to night to secure such results. It seemed to me when walking along the street that everyone had a flower.

Bell Change Ringers Gathering in Worcester – The annual meeting of the Worcestershire District Change Ringing Association was held at Worcester on Easter Monday. A large gathering of ringers visited the city, and during the morning many touches were rung on the bells of the City. The following towers were open All Saints (10 bells) Hallow (8) St Nicholas (8) St Johns (6) and St Swithins (6). Owing to repairs to the Cathedral tower it was found impossible to ring the peal of 12 at the Cathedral. At 12.45 a peal-board erected in the ringing chamber at the Cathedral was unveiled by the Master of the Association
