To the Editor: Boy Scouts’ Association: Sir, As nearly all of the Scoutmasters and Assistants have joined His Majesty’s Forces, it is difficult to carry on the different Troops of Scouts in the city. If anyone willing to help will see me, I will gladly explain the work to them. It is very easy and extremely interesting. H.W. Spreckley, Acting District Commissioner.

Malvern Juvenile Court: Theft of Boots: Thomas William Parkins (16), Walter Edward Parkins (11), and John Henry William Jones (13), were charged with stealing a pair of boots, value £1, the property of G.T. Todd, from No. 9, The College. Alice Knight, matron at The College, stated that she saw a small boy creeping towards a place where toboggans were kept. She went down, and then saw three boys. They would not come back, although she called to them, and witness followed them into the College Road, where the big boy, Thomas Parkins, threw something into a garden. Witness sent the house boy there to see if he could find anything, and he brought back a pair of boots, which belonged to a student at the College…Sergt. Cale said he saw the three prisoners in the Worcester Road, and caught hold of the two Parkins, whom he took to the Police Station. Jones, who ran away, was afterwards brought in by P.C. Mound... The elder Parkins replied, “I went in and took a pair of boots.” Then, placing his hand on his brother’s shoulder, he said, “He went in to get a pair.” Pointing to Jones, he said, “He went to the door, and then back to the shed. He was going to have a sledge.” The three boys pleaded guilty. The elder Parkins was put under probation for 12 months; the others were discharged.
