Women and Farm Work

With the object of finding canvassers to make inquiries respecting women’s labour on the land, a meeting of the Martley sub-committee of the County War Agricultural Committee was held in the Martley board room on Friday afternoon. Mr Bund said they wished to know what women were willing to work, how many were trained, and what demand was from the farmers.
