Air Craft Precautions - What Will Be Done In Worcester

At a meeting of the Worcester Watch and Lighting Committee, held this morning, the Home Office order with regard to the control of lighting was considered in detail, and steps were taken to give effect to it.

Mr. Harrison asked if it was possible to get dark blinds this week, and the Mayor said that all things were possible. Ald. Caldicott questioned if the supply on hand would be sufficient and the Mayor said that there were other ways of conforming with the order; a pot of black paint would go a long way.

On The Approach of Aircraft - Better System of Communication

The Chief Constable should take steps to receive the best possible information of the approach of aircraft, and immediately inform the Electricity Department and the Gas Company.

The Chief Constable said that in order to obviate the delay in the transmission of information, which occurred last week, the Chief Constables had made a mutual agreement which would apply to the whole of the Southern Command. A scheme had been devised by which the information would be communicated to responsible persons, and thence by chain of communication it would be disseminated immediately.
