At the Front:
1st Batt: Enemy pretty active all day so steady shell fire on the front line and communication trenches. There were aerial attacks by torpedoes which were very large and exploded with a deafening noise. They made deep caverns of 15-18 feet in diameter. Our Howitzers retaliated.
10th Batt:Col Cherry relinquished the command of Batt owing to ill-health
SMD RFA: Brigade bombarded enemy trenches.
On the Home Front:
Air Raids and Church Lighting
At a meeting of the City Incumbents, held at the Church house today, and attended by the Dean and representatives of the Free Church bodies, it was decided that after the next Sunday (13th), the evening services will be conducted in accordance with the lighting regulations. Consequently, services will begin at six o'clock instead of 6.30, and in any case lights will be discontinued after 7 o'clock.
