2nd February 1916 - 10th Batt: Regimental transport inspected

At the Front:

1st Batt: Enemy making life more unpleasant by using a heavier pattern of Minenwerfer which throws bombs with a disquieting effect. However, they are erratic and actual losses were not severe.

10th Batt: Regimental transport inspected by the GCC of 37 Brigade.

On the Home Front:

The coal Carmans drink -Curious Worcester case

Charles Dudfield, 58, was charged with supplying to Frederick Stock a glass cup of beer during prohibited hours, and also supplying to Stock a glass cup of beer which had not been paid for by Stock being in Contravention of the CENTRAL Control Board. Frederick Stock, carter, was charged with consuming a glass cup of beer at the same time and place. The defendants pleaded guilty.

The Bishops Company- Coming conferences

The Bishop writes ‘I want to consult the ladies who are already at work in the committees, etc. in this diocese, as I know they and others can cooperate with the Bishops company of Laymen. For that purpose I intend to have two conferences; one at Worcester, in the Church House, on Shrove Tuesday 2pm, and the other at Warwick, at the same hour, on Monday, March 13th ‘.
