COUNTY AUTHORITY AND CHILD WELFARE

…"Maternity and child welfare" by which it is confidently expected that the lives of many babies and young children will be saved....steps are now being taken to bring it into immediate operation. A number of County Health Visitors are being advertised for, and the cooperation of many District Nursing Associations and Voluntary agencies has been obtained....there seems to be an overlapping in health visitors. To prevent this, a conference between the County Council and the different local authorities will be held on January20th, at the Shirehall, to see if some joint system of working cannot be arrived.
