Worcs Yeomanry lands at Suvla Bay on the Gallipoli peninsular
Pte R Jeff, the first Worcs member of the 8th Battalion (Territorials) to receive the Distinguished Conduct Medal is now on a weeks leave from the front. He said that the noise from shells has no terror for them now. They merely glance up and remark "Where's that one going to?" and as it sails safely overhead someone says "That's all right" and no more notice is taken. It is extremely rare, he says, for one to burst in the trenches.
